Coats and Mantles Here are some examples of coats and mantles I made. Click the images to view a larger image.
Eskimo coat
Overcoat Synelphi This is an overcoat I made for a forest dwelling creature. It is made out of very thin cotton. Synelphi has no sleeves or way to close it, but was made to flutter and move when you walk. There is a split at both sides from the hip down. There are two large pockets in the front. The neckline is finished with a border of black rabbit fur. The coat is decorated with little pieces of fur, leather leafs, twigs, feathers, dried plants and fake ivy. A coat like this is available at approximately: €25,- (NOTE: This is without decoration!)
Mantle Asaris It was a very cold night when my friend found me, outside my tent, shivering. He took of his mantle and put it around me. I had never been so warm!I knew that I wanted to have a mantle like that. His girlfriend told me how to make this beauty and I decided to give it a go. I gave this mantle the name of the person who warmed me in it, Asaris. This mantle is made from Shetlandwool, which is a double layered wool. This makes the mantle extra warm. The hide around the shoulders is a reindeer. The wool and hide are water- and windproof, to some extent. Because this mantle is so big, you can also use it as a ‘bed’. This mantle give you an authoritative look, as it makes you appear a lot broader. This Asaris closes at the front with a button and a fibula.
A mantle like this is available at approximately: € 250,-
Mantle Koos
Koos is exactly the same mantle as the ‘Asaris’ mantle, except we made it from a different kind of wool (not as thick as the Shetland-blend) and we did not attach a reindeer hide around the shoulders. It does not look as authoritative, but it is still nice and warm. This mantle, like ‘Asaris’ closes with a button, a fibula or a clasp (the last two are more expensive then a button) at the front. And, as the other mantle, has arm-slits, so you can still use your hands without obstruction.
A mantle like this is available at approximately: €175,-
Fancy coat
A coat like this is available at approximately: €110,-
Overcoat Immogen This is a coat I made for a winter-event. I made it out of a wool/fleece mix. The coat closes with one button at the center front top of this coat. When it is warm, you can use this button to close the coat, so it won’t slip of your shoulders. When it is colder, you can wear a band around your waist like a belt to keep it closed (Band like shown can be found under Accessories). There are splits on either side, from the knee down. The coat measures approximately 155 cm. I have finished the borders of the armholes with (fake)wolf fur. The hood is very big and I adorned the center front with glass beads. This coat is very warm and when you put on the hood, you can ‘live’ in this coat. A coat like this is available at approximately: €120,-
Overcoat Rogue
Poncho Misla Misla is made out of finely woven alpaca wool, making it very soft to the touch. The wool makes this poncho waterproof, to some extend. Misla is cut as a wrap-around poncho and can be worn ‘open’ or wrapped around you to ‘close’ it. I use a brooch or fibula to keep the poncho closed. The longest points of the poncho (the front and rear) reach to the knees, or slightly higher.
A poncho like this is available at approximately: €85,-
Veil Overcoat I made this coat out of a beautiful piece of green and silver-sparkling veil with a flower pattern that adorns the border. The coat is see-through and makes every costume look mysterious and royal. The armholes are very wide. The overcoat is worn open and has no buttons to close it.
A coat like this is available at approximately: €50,-
